Battery saver mode on Android devices is a useful feature that helps extend your phone's battery life by making various adjustments. When activated, it reduces screen brightness, slows down background apps, and limits certain features that drain the battery. While it's great for squeezing out extra hours of use when your battery is running low, it's important to note that it can affect how apps behave. For instance, background apps may not refresh as frequently, which could affect notifications and updates. Some features, like location services, might also be limited, affecting certain apps that rely on them.
Even though the Battery saver mode on Android devices of most brands looks pretty harmless to Superr App, it’s advised to use the app without it enabled. As mentioned above, the background process of the apps would slow down, which would cause the notifications to be delayed. And the rules and configuration changes would not instantly occur either. In some cases, the location services would get limited/disabled, and the geofence and 'Where's the child now?’ wouldn't function properly.
The devices that would have trouble with Battery saver mode are from brands like Oppo, Realme, and OnePlus. One would not be able to lock the Superr app in the recents if the battery saver mode is enabled on the devices of the mentioned brands. The purpose of the ‘Lock app in recents’ functionality is to prevent an app from getting closed in the background. Battery saver mode kills that purpose. So, this is the very reason that you have been advised and directed to the permission screen to disable battery saver mode when setting the Superr app up on the child's device.
The issues that different variants of the battery saver mode cause have been largely discussed here for each different brand:
