How do I install the Superr Kids App on an Android device?
Updated over a week ago

Before Installing the Superr Kids App

  • Make sure that there is no other parental control app installed on the child’s Android device. More than two parental control apps on a device would make it slow.

  • Make sure Power saving mode or Battery saver mode is disabled on your child’s Android device, especially if it's an Oppo, Realme, or OnePlus. Even if you forget to disable it, Superr will ask and guide you to disable it while setting up the permissions for it.

I'm new to Superr:

To get started, download the Superr Parent App from the App Store or Google Play Store on your device, create an account, and begin adding your child's devices.

Go through the instructions regarding how to create an account given in the articles below:

I’ve got an account:

After creating an account and a child profile, here’s how to get your child's device equipped with Superr:

1. Install the App

  • On your child’s Android device, search for the ‘Superr Kids app’ in the Play Store.

  • Alternatively, you can send the app link from your Superr Parents app to your child’s device and follow the on-screen instructions.

  • Once installed, tap on the ‘Child’ in the ‘Whose phone is this?’ page.

  • Select ‘Yes, I have it’ for ‘Do you have the Superr Parents App installed on your personal device?’

2. Choose a Pairing Method

  • Pair with QR Scan: Ideal if you have the parent app open. Simply scan the QR code on your child’s phone with the scanner in the parent app for an instant connection.

  • Pair with Email Login: Tap on ‘Login with email’. Enter your Superr Parent App account details for pairing.

  • Superr Direct Connection: If both devices (parent and child’s) are on the same Wi-Fi network, the Superr Kids app will prompt a direct pairing option, bypassing the QR scan or email login.

3. Completing the device registration and granting permissions

  • If you have paired the Kids app with an email login, you will be asked to select the child profile you want to connect the app with. If you don’t have any child profiles created specifically for your child in the Parent’s app, you can create one from the Kids app itself and set it up on the device.

  • Once you have paired the child app with the child profile in the parent app, you can register the child's device using any name you prefer. This will help you easily identify your child's device among other devices.

  • Tap the ‘I Agree’ button on the next page to begin sharing the installed apps list with our servers.

  • On the next page, you will be shown the list of permissions that you would need to enable and the purpose they each serve. Proceed to set up the permissions after reviewing them.

  • A chat bubble icon is available on the screen throughout the setup. If you have any questions or need guidance, just tap on it for assistance.
    Notes:

    • The chat bubble feature is only available for devices running Android 11 and above.

    • Enabling notifications and chat bubbles are the permissions that are asked first in the permission setup. If you do not enable these permissions, you will miss out on the wonderful experience the chat bubble assistance provides.

  • For devices of different brands, the steps to setting up permissions for the Superr Kids app will vary, so here are the instructions on how to set up permissions on each brand’s device. Note: The instructions given are based on the devices having Android 12. These would be similar but may vary a bit for other Android versions. Just follow the instructions given on the permission screen to understand how to set it up.
