Known issues that may malfunction Superr (brand-wise)
Updated over a week ago

Certain functionalities on different devices of various brands trigger some issues in the Superr Kids App. We at Superr are developing a comprehensive solution to prevent known and unknown issues on your child's device and will provide a fix in a future update.

Common issues shared by every device:

Safe Mode:

Safe Mode on your Android device is like a special mode that helps troubleshoot issues with your phone or tablet. When you activate Safe Mode, your device only runs essential system software, temporarily disabling any third-party apps you've installed, including the Superr Kids App. This can be helpful if your device is acting strangely or if you suspect that a specific app might be causing problems.

The Safe Mode is a helpful tool for identifying and resolving issues, but it may temporarily affect how third-party apps like Superr Kids App operate on the child's device.

Problems it causes for the Superr Kids App:

  • The Superr app gets disabled in Safe mode. It won’t function at all in this mode.

  • YouTube, Google Chrome, and other Google apps are all considered system apps and not third-party apps. And so the child would be able to use them without any supervision from the Superr Kids app.

If your child’s device has somehow entered Safe mode, you will see no third-party apps installed on the device. It turns on aeroplane mode, sealing your device away from anything that it didn't ship with. However, the aeroplane mode can be disabled, and the child would be able to use the internet anyway.

The solution to this issue:

To exit Safe mode, you just have to restart the device. Long-press the switch key on the device and select the restart option in the power menu that pops up.

We, from Superr, are working on a solution to prevent the child's device from going to Safe mode without getting permission from the parents and will be providing a fix in the future update.

Samsung devices:

Power Saving Mode:

Power-saving mode is a tool that helps you extend the battery life of your Samsung device by disabling certain functions, features, or even apps. This mode includes reducing the processing speed of the device to 70% and would limit the background activity of certain apps, including the Superr Kids App.

Problems it may cause for the Superr Kids App:

  • The child would be able to open apps that were blocked

  • Not receiving any notification

This issue would occur only rarely on some Samsung devices. As per the latest version, the app should function properly. But if the above-mentioned problem occurs, follow the below steps you have to follow to ensure the proper functioning of Superr.

The solution to this issue:

  • Swipe down the status bar at the top of the screen to access the quick settings menu.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen again to expand the quick settings menu.

  • Look for the ‘Power saving’ setting icon.

  • Turn the setting off by tapping on the icon.

OR

  • Open the device settings menu and tap on “Battery and device care”.

  • Tap the “Battery” option.

  • Tap the toggle button next to the "Power saving" option to turn off the Power saving mode.

Ultra Battery Saver mode or Maximum Power Saving mode

Similar to Battery Saving mode on Samsung devices, there is an advanced version for it. The Ulta Battery Saver mode would change the default home app of the device (as shown below) and may cause irregularities such as :

  • For some devices, if the configuration is enabled, it would disable Wi-fi for the device.

  • Only four extra apps can be added apart from the Phone, Messages, Settings and browser app, which are already present on the home screen.

  • Limited notifications would appear

  • The child would be able to open apps and websites that were blocked.

However, as per the latest version of the Superr Kids App, the app would be functioning properly in the background. The default Home app permission screen would appear on the device to ensure the home app is enabled back for Superr.

But if the above-mentioned problem occurs, follow the below steps you have to follow to ensure the proper functioning of Superr.

The solution to this issue:

  • On the home screen, tap the More Options icon on the top right of your screen.

  • Tap the ‘Turn off Power Saving’ option.

OR

  • Swipe down the status bar at the top of the screen to access the quick settings menu.

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen again to expand the quick settings menu.

  • Look for the ‘Power saving’ setting icon.

  • Turn the setting off by tapping on the icon.

OR

  • Open the device settings menu and tap on “Battery and device care”.

  • Tap the “Battery” option.

  • Tap the toggle button next to the "Power saving" option to turn off the Power saving mode.

There is a probability that the accessibility would crash for Superr on some Samsung devices after turning this mode off. There is no need to worry, as the accessibility permission screen will show up immediately. You can enable the accessibility of the app based on the instructions given.

We, from Superr, are working on a solution to prevent the child's device from going into Power saving mode and the Ultra Battery Saver mode without getting permission from the parents and will be providing a fix in the future update.

Xiaomi devices:

Ultra Battery Saver Mode:

Ultra Power Saver Mode in Xiaomi devices is a feature that helps save battery power when it's running low. When you turn it on, it does a few things to make your battery last longer. First off, it stops things that use a lot of power, like Wi-Fi and all kinds of background activity. You will be able to use only six ‘non-essential’ apps other than calls, SMS, and network connectivity. Plus, it adjusts settings to use less energy, like dimming the screen. You can still pick which apps you need most. Overall, Ultra Power Saver Mode is a helpful tool that lets your Xiaomi device last longer when you need it to.

Problems it causes for the Superr Kids App:

If this mode is turned on on the respective devices, the Superr app misbehaves, causing the Accessibility service to crash when turned off. It also allows the kids to access blocked apps and websites.

The default home app will also be changed to a minimalised version.

The solution to this issue:

Tap on the ‘Exit’ button on the top right corner of the home screen.

As of now, the Superr blocks the child from accessing this option in Settings. We, from Superr, are working on a fully-fledged solution to prevent the child's device from going to Ultra Battery Saver Mode mode without getting permission from the parents, and we will be providing a fix in a future update.

Dual Apps

Dual apps on Xiaomi phones allow users to run two versions of the same app at once. This means you can manage two accounts on apps like WhatsApp or Facebook without logging in and out all the time. It's like having two separate phones on one device! With just a quick setup in your phone settings, you can easily switch between your personal and work accounts, making it super convenient to stay organised and productive on your Xiaomi device.

Problems it may cause for the Superr Kids App:

While cloning the Superr Kids app, a cloned Superr app with a new login will be created. It might confuse you.

The solution to this issue:

  1. Tap on Settings

  2. Tap on Apps

  3. Tap on Dual apps

  4. Turn the switch off for the Superr Kids App

We, from Superr, are working on a solution to prevent the child's device from letting a cloned version of the Superr Kids App be created and will be providing a fix in a future update.

Second Space:

Second Space is a cool feature in Xiaomi phones that lets you divide your phone into two separate areas. It's like having two different worlds on one device! With Second Space, you can keep your work stuff separate from your apps and data, which is super handy if you share your phone or want to stay organised. It's like having a secret hideout for your stuff, making sure everything stays safe and private.

But it won’t be cool for the Superr Kids App, as the app would be absent in the Second Space and have no way of monitoring what the kid is doing.

The solution to this issue:

  1. Open the Settings

  2. Tap on Special features

  3. Tap on the Second space

  4. Tap on Delete

  5. Confirm with Delete

We, from Superr, are working on a solution to prevent the child's device from letting a Second Space be created and will be providing a fix in the future update.

OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme devices:

Super power saving mode:

Super Power Saving Mode on these devices helps you save battery when you need it. When you turn it on, it cuts down on how much power your phone uses by stopping background tasks and non-essential stuff. This means your battery lasts longer for important things like calls and messages. The screen gets dimmer, and you can only use a few apps. With Super Power Saving Mode, you can stay connected even when your battery is low, giving you one less thing to worry about during your day.
